If you win, you have the opportunity to create exactly the series that you want to make. In fact, your web series just may be the perfect material to become a TV pilot. You won't find out until you try….
How it works:
Filmaka members submit short written pitches only for the 3-5 minute pilot of the web series that you want to create. There will be two contests. In the first contest, you have a choice of two genres to select from and three weeks to submit your work. The topic for the second contest will be announced on January 31st.
STAGE ONE:
CONTEST 1: January 9th-January 30th (three weeks including three weekends): Submit your written pitch for the 3-5 minute pilot of the web series that you want to direct in either the comedy or drama genre.
February 6th: Two winners are announced one week after the contest ends.
CONTEST 2: January 31-February 21st (three weeks including three weekends): The topic will be announced on January 31st .
February 28th: Two winners are announced one week after the contest ends.
STAGE TWO:
March 1st-April 12th (six weeks including six weekends): All four winners are awarded $5000 each to shoot a short film (up to 5 min. long) based on their winning pitches.
-In addition to their short, winners should submit nine, 3 to 5 min. scripts, that along with their short is a ten-episode digital series and/or that can be cut together as a 30 minute TV pilot.
-Contestants have six weeks to submit both their film and the nine scripts. The winner will be announced approximately one week after stage two ends.
STAGE THREE:
April 19th: Out of the four submissions, Filmaka will choose one winner who will be given $25,000 to shoot their series.
