It is that time of the year again! The Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles is gearing up for another great year to showcase the best of independent Indian Cinema! The festival will return to downtown Los Angeles at Regal L.A. LIVE fro April 11 - 15, 2018.
We are currently seeking Interns for the following departments:
Marketing: Securing media sponsors and promotional partners to spread the word about the festival, promoting the festival, promoting individual films, conducting filmmaker interviews, generating social media coverage during the festival.
Intern Description: This role would start early March and run until April 29th. The internship would consist of working on projects remotely until the festival begins on April 11, during which time we ask that you attend the festival from April 11-15. Looking for someone with strong admin skills, highly organized, experienced with google drive / excel, strong interpersonal skills, knowledgable of various social media platforms and their different uses / functions, reliable and positive attitude.
Jury :Prepares for jury check-in at Opening Night/Orientation, Closing Night, and deliberations.
Intern Description: The jury intern would be working primarily with the jury liaison and will help coordinate the needs for members of the feature film and short film juries, including but not limited to: assisting with preparations for jury check-in at Opening Night/Orientation, Closing Night, and deliberations, providing on the ground support and answering questions where applicable during scheduled competition screenings during the festival. The ideal candidate is pro-active, organized, friendly but extremely tactful and professional, has some experience handling VIP or high-profile guests, and is available the week prior to the festival for a brief training session and April 11th-15th.
Transportation: This department gets active a few days before the festival begins. The filmmakers arrive prior to the festival and must be picked up from the airport and taken to their respective homes/hotels. The main job of the drivers is to ferry our filmmaker guests from their place of residence to the theatre venue and other events taking place at different parts of the city. The stint ends after the festival when all filmmakers have been dropped off to the airport. While festival dates are April 11-15, the dates for the intern drivers is determined later, once we get the filmmakers’ itinerary.
Intern Description: The intern must have a car in good working order, driver’s license/registration and be reasonably knowledgeable about LA routes/streets. They need to provide digital copies of this paperwork. Also must have access to GPS, either on the phone or a car device. Car interior/exterior needs to be neat and clean. He/she needs to be reliably punctual since the job is all about getting the filmmakers to their destinations on time. Drivers work according to a schedule that may change suddenly, so they need to be flexible as well. Must be prepared for early mornings and late nights. Dress code is semi casual. Must retain all parking receipts and details of pickups and drop offs for reimbursement. Stipend: $200
Special Events: The Events department covers Galas and Special Events, including networking mixers, entertaining the filmmakers and showing them what Los Angeles has to offer! We plan, organize and execute a range of programs and are looking for someone to help us brainstorm some fresh and creative ideas for events!
Intern Description: The Galas and Events committee requires organized and personable interns who want to learn the ins and outs of events planning and execution for a film festival - from Galas to filmmaker brunches. A role for those who want to know how to get things done in Los Angeles, you would be needed to help with brainstorming the best vendors and talent for our events, updating and tracking RSVP lists for the galas and setting up venues and coordinating with guests on-site during the festival. Time Commitment: 10-15 hrs/week leading up to the Festival. Must be present for events during the festival.
Interns get to work closely with staff and gain an incredible experience learning the inner workings of IFFLA.
