Description
Interested in the world of screenwriting? The Writers Guild Foundation is seeking a paid Community Programs Intern who is passionate about promoting equity and inclusion across the entertainment industry. In this role, interns will assist with the operation and promotion of WGF’s Writers’ Access Support Staff Training Program, a first-of-its-kind initiative to support the full inclusion and employment of underrepresented groups in the television industry.
Interns will organize outreach lists, contact potential employers via email and social media, support the planning of in-person mixers, and update the program lookbook, among other duties. This position will require approximately 20 hours per week between August through December. Position will be paid $6,760 ($16.90 per hour).
This position is supported, in part, by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Department of Arts and Culture’s Los Angeles County Arts Internship Program.
Qualifications
Internship positions will be open to currently enrolled undergraduate (2 or 4-year) and community college students who reside or attend college in Los Angeles County. Recent graduates may apply as long as they have completed their degree between May 1 - December 1, 2023.
Candidates with experience in communications, social media, research, and equity and inclusion are preferred. Those with an interest in film and TV are encouraged to apply. Qualified applicants should be highly organized, friendly, and proficient in Microsoft Office.
