Overview
We’re looking for a Los Angeles-based and NY based intern to support community-based fundraising and
production of documentary and narrative film projects. The part-time 8-20 hours per week,
credit-only internship will primarily be remote. During the internship you will learn how to find
and close funding opportunities, work with partner organizations, and general production
planning.
You will be immersed in the world of independent filmmaking, including funding and production
management skills working in a bi-costal production company, which means that you need to be
flexible and work on a variety of projects and tasks. Producing work includes development of
storylines relative to existing projects, background research for funding and development
purposes, research industry and other project related trends, social media marketing, list
creation, scheduling and organizing, and more.
● You will have specific deliverables as well as ongoing tasks that will be your
responsibility to manage.
● You will have an opportunity to help identify and plan for upcoming grant proposals and
to help build a strategy in support of individual projects and the company as a whole.
● You will be immersed in several projects and expected to get up to speed with story,
goals, schedule and implementation of your tasks relative to each.
● You will gain an understanding of developing projects from idea to finished film and
distribution.
Requirements:
● Must be pursuing a degree at an accredited institution (college credit)
● Requires understanding of social media (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn)
● Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Drive
● Basic knowledge of and interest in independent documentaries and films
● Able to work independently and in a team
● Excellent reading and writing skills a must
● Legal authorization to work in the United States
● Excellent analytical and time management skills
Preferred:
● Major related to film, psychology, or history
● Access to own transportation
