Dear NYFA Students, Faculty, and Staff,

I hope this letter finds you and your families in good health.

During these months of the pandemic NYFA has found new resilience and renewed purpose as a community and we have forged ahead together in our work as artists and educators. Our faculty and administration have been working every day to ensure that students have been able to continue their studies safely throughout, and we are looking forward to welcoming you to campus in the Fall.

Dear Students,

Many of you have probably heard about and/or read the guidance issued yesterday by SEVP and Immigration and Customs Enforcement as it relates to F1 international students studying in the US. Please note that this guidance relates to the upcoming Fall semester and is not for the current Summer semester - you are currently allowed to be studying online at this time. If you are graduating in September you are still be eligible to apply for OPT.

Dear NYFA Community,

For those of you beginning your Spring 2021 programs, welcome to NYFA! And for those of you returning to NYFA after the Winter Break, welcome back to the start of a new semester and the start of a new year. We hope 2021 brings you and your loved ones good health, joy and abundant opportunities for professional and personal fulfillment. And, of course, we hope that as this new year progresses, we experience relief from the stress, fear, and loss caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

We’re thrilled to announce our 2017 Sci-Fi & Fantasy Screenplay Contest! Whether you’re writing a contained science fiction drama or an epic fantasy saga, we want to read your feature film script. The jury is out of this world — with judges who love sci-fi movies — from top companies including 20th Century Fox, Sony and Lionsgate! Don’t miss the industry’s #1 sci-fi & fantasy feature screenplay contest.

The POV project is a horror film called The Phantom.

We are shooting on Monday, March 2nd from 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM depending on how fast we finish.

It's about a lone young woman fending for her life against a masked serial killer.
