US EXEMPTS EUROPEAN F1 STUDENTS FROM CORONAVIRUS TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS

Dear Students,

I am writing to let you know that F1 students can now enter the US from the UK, Ireland and Schengen area countries (Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland).

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/News/visas-news/national-interest-exceptions-from-certain-travelers-from-the-schengen-area-uk-and-ireland.html

"Students traveling from the Schengen Area, the UK, and Ireland with valid F-1 and M-1 visas, do not need to seek a national interest exception to travel."

This means as long as you have a valid F1 visa you can enter the US from these areas as normal with your valid passport and valid I 20 with a travel signature.

Unfortunately travel from China, Brazil and Iran were not included in the U.S. exemptions.

This is excellent news and proves that international students are of national interest to the US!!!

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns and we will continue to update you as we learn information.

All the best,

Leslie
