Project Description

Hi there. My name is Walker Grossi. I am a AFA Filmmaking student and am looking for a male role to play the part of Garrett.

THIS ROLE IS THE MAIN ROLE

Garrett- an 18 year old high school student with Autism and Social Anxiety who is very smart and talented who loves reading and drawing.

Logline: A young high school boy who struggles with autism and social anxiety overcomes his fears and obstacles to try and ask out

his crush at school.

Synopsis: This story is portrayed from the life of my actual younger
brother Garrett, who has autism and has to adapt to certain
components in life, including relationships. This is a story
about a young boy named Garrett who lives his ordinary life
just like the rest of us. But unlike us, he lives his life
with autism and constantly moves through obstacles to
maintain a healthy living and to maintain happiness. Garrett
(18) is a high school kid who likes reading and writing. He
always finds ways to consume knowledge in any way shape or
form. Garrett has adapted to his difficulty with social
anxiety by constantly practicing in the mirror how to say
certain things and when to say them.
Garrett is at the stretch of his high school journey
preparing to graduate. The one thing that has always been a
difficult task for him is social interactions. He sometimes
struggles to find the right things to say at the right time,
especially with girls. Garrett has a crush on this girl from
his school, her name is Jules (18). Garrett shares 3 classes
with her all in which they both sit next to each other.
Garrett and Julia talk mostly in class and message outside of
class for school related purposes. Garrett’s goal is to build
up the courage to ask her out to study at the park. His plan
is to make a great impression outside of school in order to
make a connection between the two. The issue Garrett runs
into is the insecurity of his autism. He is afraid that he’s
going to mess up his chances and not know what to say and
when to say it.
