Logline: Roosevelt Island, one of New York's best-kept secrets, turns into a new oasis with disappearing history.
Summary:
The 10 mins documentary will investigate one of New York’s most rapidly changing places, the Roosevelt Island, mapping out the gentrification process it went through, with an approach of expository documentary. The film will combine on-scene recordings, historical footage with interviews of current residents, to reveal the lesser-known secrets and architectures of the island with the underlying stories.
Roosevelt Island serves as a great example of the urbanization process happening in a metropolis like New York. Documenting the historical changes from visual demonstration of architecture and interviews of living experiences further questions the delicate balance between developing an urban life and protecting historical legacies.
