Project Description

Hello Everyone:

My name is Neo, majored in filmmaking, MFA program. I am going to do my one year film (I will shoot on the end of June ). Now the project just started and I am looking forward to cooperating with other filmmakers and create some great stuffs.

There is a link of my directing reel: https://youtu.be/oK2rzo1FjFo

About project:
Logline:

The son who is involved in mid-age-crisis wants to send her senior mom who has Alzheimer's disease to nurse home and lies mom he will take her to the trip.

Characters:
Mom, 70 years old, sheer white hair, alzheimer's disease patient. She cannot recognize her son at first, However when she prepares for trip and sees the things which refreshes her memories about her son. She sets up the used son at dinning room. A little boy (It's an illusion of her son who was a kid ) plays hide and seek game with her. She comes inside of little tent. Little son asks her read storybook for him.

Son, 35 years old, stressed by his career. He considers his mom as a big burden. It is the last straw that maid quits job at midnight and he decides to send her mom to the nurse home in the morning. He lies to his mom that they will go to trip tomorrow morning. However when her mom sets up the camp at dinning room. His mom sleeps with storybook, he sits around her mom and takes the book and reads for her just like past. All memories haunt him again at that moment (by sound design). His mom awakes and calls his name and falls sleeps again. This makes him struggled of his decision.

Director Statement:
Alzheimer's disease is a cruel attack to all families. The patient losses memories of beloved families. Mom always has patience to her child but when child grows up, he/she considers mom as a big burden and forgets all memories of childhood. That's just like Alzheimer's disease too. So for me, son and mom are all Alzheimer's diseased patients. I want to show a personal moment that mom and child gets memory back together at a small cozy camp.
