Hi!
My name is Lily Malm and I'm about to graduate from the BFA Screenwriting Program at the Los Angeles campus. In the next few weeks, I will be adapting my ten-minute play "The Labor Act" into a screenplay suitable for short film festivals for which I would love to collaborate with a team of filmmakers. The script is a satirical comedy about a pregnant employee attempting to convince the men at the top to grant her a paid maternity leave when her water suddenly breaks in the middle of the board meeting.
I believe the topic is particularly timely right now in view of the fall of Roe v Wade and all of its ripple effects, so if we could get this done by the one-year anniversary of the Supreme Court's decision, the timing itself could really help the project thrive. At this stage, I am specifically looking for a director and a producer who are passionate about feminism and social justice with whom I could brainstorm and eventually shoot the adaptation. It will be a low budget production, featuring one location [a conference room] and a total of five actors.
If you are interested, please email me at the address below and I'll send you the first draft!
