The Mirage

Logline: In a Near Future, where Virtual reality is now a fully immersive experience and it became a substitute for any online dating service, people begin to prefer virtual worlds over real life. Sebastian, a young man with the desire of finding real love, fights against being part of this new reality, and struggles to convince Nova, his virtual love interest, to meet outside The Mirage. 

ACTOR Sebastian. 20-30 age, any ethnicity.

ACTRESS: Nova. 20-30 age, caucasian ethnicity. (comfortable with partial nudity (nothing explicit)).

ACTRESS: Olivia. 40-70 age; any ethnicity.

DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY: Must be experienced and have a good work ethic. 

HAIR/MAKEUP: I need the actor to look messy and tired for some scenes, for other scenes I want them to look as good as possible. NO SFX

Sebastian 20-30, any ethnicity, is a young man who lives by himself and has a mediocre life. He cleans houses for a living, and with the little money he makes, he pays for the Virtual Reality Service: The Mirage. When Sebastian is in this virtual world, he doesn't feel fulfilled like the rest of the users; instead, he feels like a fish out of water. With the desire to find real love, he struggles to convince Nova, his virtual love interest, to meet outside, being the only reason Sebastian keeps joining The Mirage, and in the proces, he forgets that not everyone is who they seem to be.

Nova 20-30, caucasian, is a youg girl who spends most of her time in The Mirage, she feels life is unfair and claims The Mirage to be a better reality. She is in love with Sebastian but at the same time she can't give him what he wants, meeting outside the virtual worlds. Nova hides a shocking secret from him and the rest of the world...

Olivia 40-70, any ethnicity, is a conflicted old woman who, years ago, lost her wife in a terrible accident. Looking for an escape, she found The Mirage, where she mysteriously found her dead wife with no memories of life outside whatsoever. Being Sebastian's client, she empathizes with him when she catches him using VR instead of working and guides Sebastian into making the right decision.
