Meet the Team

Kendall Nelson 
Manager

MA in TESOL, California State University, Los Angeles; BA in Writing, Literature, and Publishing, Emerson College. Kendall has presented research at the TESOL Conference in Toronto. Kendall’s research topics include trans-lingual education practices in multilingual classrooms, and storytelling methods for English language learners.

 

Angelina Tala 
Assistant Manager

Angelina earned an MFA in Screenwriting at the New York Film Academy, Los Angeles, and a BA in Journalism at Brooklyn College, New York with a minor in Television and Radio. Angelina is a professional writer and motion picture/theatre instructor and a published journalist with eight years experience as a multimedia reporter and four years TEFL/TESOL experience, both domestically and abroad.

 

John Russo 
Tutor

John Russo is a writer from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts in Cinema and Comparative Literature. Russo studied at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles where he received a Master’s of Fine Arts in Screenwriting. He's currently developing comic books, features and television pilots.

 

YoonJu Mangione 
Tutor

YoonJu earned her MA in TESL and her BA in Linguistics at California State University, Northridge. She has worked with various groups of international students over the years and aspires to inspire students to know the joy of learning new language and culture. She is always excited to learn about her students and hopes to be a mentor for those who need support. YoonJu’s research topics of interest include Korean linguistics, bilingualism, and second/foreign language acquisition.

 

Allie Dokus 
Tutor

Allie earned her MFA in English - Creative Writing at the University of Iowa and her BFA in Writing, Literature, and Publishing from Emerson College. Allie is the current recipient of the Rae Armour West Postgraduate Fellowship for her novel-in-progress.

 

Meghan McEnery 
Tutor

Meghan earned her MFA in Playwriting from the University of Arkansas and her

BA in English--Creative Writing at Webster University. Meghan has taught creative writing workshops at River Styx Literary Magazine and the University of Arkansas, and has been a tutor in Hua Hin, Thailand and St. Louis, MO. Her research is focused on playwriting, theatre, and dramaturgy. 

 

Christina Kellagher 
Tutor

Christina earned a MFA in Creative Writing from Long Island University and a BA in Anthropology--Culture and Linguistics from the University of South Florida. She has 8 years experience as an ESL teacher and has taught in Argentina and Japan. She has 3 years experience as a writing tutor and is an English Composition instructor. Her research interests include Japanese literature and culture.
