GRADUATION- LA

Dear NYFA community, 

 

Our Spring graduation on May 8th, 2021 marked a year since we began virtually celebrating the accomplishments of our degree graduations in an online ceremony due to the pandemic. While this is not how we or our graduates imagined celebrating their final semester, we’ve worked intentionally to produce a virtual Graduation Ceremony that is both personal and meaningful as families watch with pride from around the world.

 

As our Summer semester instruction is hybrid, our Summer Graduation Ceremony for degree graduates on Saturday, August 28th remains virtual. At this time, Los Angeles County has not yet given permission for graduation ceremonies to occur indoors.  Therefore, for the health and safety of our NYFA community, we’re announcing the following details regarding the August 2021 graduation ceremony for AFA, BA, BFA, MA, and MFA graduates: 

 

  • Graduation for degree graduates (AFA, BA, BFA, MA, & MFA) will occur on Saturday, August 28th, 2021 at 10 a.m. PST  in a virtual ceremony. 

  • Degree graduates can also participate in the next in-person ceremony once scheduled. While currently there is no in-person Graduation ceremony scheduled, degree graduates can request to be notified once in-person Graduation ceremonies resume.

  • As we have a limited webinar capacity for our virtual graduation, we appreciate employees understanding that we will first confirm all graduates’ personal guest count prior to opening up registration to the NYFA community at large.

 

We are determined to continue to create new opportunities to celebrate our graduates. We want to honor this important milestone the best we can given these unpredictable and difficult circumstances. 

 

All degree graduates (AFA, BA, BFA, MA, and MFA) will be emailed and asked to complete the August 2021 Graduation: Diploma & Ceremony RSVP form by Saturday, July 17th. 

 

Students completing their One-Year Certificate can contact their academic department for questions regarding their final screening and graduation.
